Question about 2005 Nissan Altima
HELLO, I AM HAVING TROUBLE STARTING MY CAR AT TIMES. I HAVE AN 05 ALTIMA AND AT TIMES WHEN I GO TO START MY CAR, IT TAKES 3-4 TIMES TO CRANK THE CAR, I WILL LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 10 TO 30 SECONDS AND TRY AGIAN AND IT WILL START. I DID GET A NEW BATTERY 6 MONTHS AGO. THERE IN NO PATICULAR TIME THIS HAPPENS,IT WILL START, ALSO WHEN I AM DRIVING I GET AN AWFUL HESITATION AGIAN THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. YOUR HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THANK YOU CARLOS
Clean out the Idle Control valve. remove the air duct from the aircleaner system. spray directly into the valve opening. it is a small component with 2 small hoses . Sludge build up and oil deposits will dirty the valve. If that does not work you can remove it and spray directly into the 2 holes on the underside of the valve. Clean the air filter or replace it.if that is not it, then it is probably the EGR valve.

It is the fuel pump. I am a ASE master tech who owns the above referenced vehicle and have had the same problem and have fixed many with the same. Nissan will fix, free of charge, up to 60,000 miles. Contact me at email@example.com with any questions.

It is the cam position sensor, very big problem on most altimas esp 2005, call a dealer first because it has been recalled or if in a hurry its 35 bucks and easy to replace.one 10mm bolt in it on the right side of the head.
