I am converting a 1996 hilux surf 3.0 petrol to 1kz turbo diesel engine with an ecu and electonic pump system.

You have a major task in front of you .The wiring and computer are not the same. get the computer and wiring loom from the donor engine vehicle. You will have to rework the exhaust system ,cooling system, transmission and drive shaft, rework the front suspension springs because of extra weight. Do check with the main roads department or other body as they may refuse to register or insure it.

have injectors or glow plugs removed and crank engine if water cones out. your engine might have experienced overheating and you have a blown gasket or a cracked cylinder and allows water into one or more cylinders.

I drove my 1988 hilux surf 2.0 petrol thru water it stopped half way thru and theres water in the intake when you turn the key all you hear is a click had the starter out and it has been wet

If you got water in the intake, you probably also got water into the cylinders. With any luck, you haven't bent any connecting rods. The starter will not turn the motor over because it is impossible to compress water. Put the starter back in and remove the spark plugs and try it again. If there is water in the cylinders, the starter will now crank the engine over and spit the water out of the spark plug holes. You will want to crank it over several times and dry your spark plugs off before reinstalling them. Hopefully, nothing is bent or broken.

THE TOYOTA GARAGE SAY THAT I NEED TWO OIL SEALS IN THE FRONT OF MY CRANK FOR A TOYOTA LAND CRUISER 2001 4.2 D. I HAVE GOT A OIL LEAK ON THE BACK OF THE CRANK PULLEY. 2 . WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF YOU DRIVE...

The damper pulley, on the end of the crank is what drives the belts for pretty much everything else. the engine will overheat, the alternator wont charge, the power steering wont work, the air con wont work,
the back of the pulley has a machined surface that runs inside the front crank seal.
Is there a reason not to believe the toyota mechanic, or did it seem expensive?
The front damper pulley (harmonic balancer) can be $100 or more plus the seal and I believe the radiator needs to come out to complete the job

Faulty timing belt on a 1993 toyota 4X4 hilux with a 2.8D motor.

Ready? Remove all the stuff in the way of the old belt. Radiator, pulleys, belts, covers, have a new tensioner to put on? How about that water pump? Get a socket big enough for the crank pulley bolt, you just want to turn the engine over a little. Get the new belt with marks on it, they come in real handy, and when you are ready to let the old one go, bring the motor around to tdc. There is a mark on the crank pulley, when that aligns, the cams should be on their marks as well, clamp the cams from moving, they are under spring tension, they won't go far, but just in case, remove the belt, line up the new one with the marks on it to the marks on the cams and the crank, pull the pin on the tensioner, and you should be all set. Put it all back together, fill the radiator back up. Hope this helps.
