200 saturn code 340 /300

Hi jesse thank you for trying. There is no noticable spark in the dark. Ive changed the modul under the two coil packs and got the same result. Ive change every thing short of the fuel pump and pcm. Could it be one of them?Could it have jumped the timing,or lost the ring on the crank that sends the signal via the crank sencor. In the morning I will drop the sume nd inspect and lift the valve cover, T D C the crank and see where the cam is in relation as to where it aught to be.Thank you again and please see if you can help me? Regards Sestell59.

    Hello,

Did you thoroughly inspect the coil for signs of stray spark, cracks, and carbon tracking?

I assume you have the engine that does not use a camshaft sensor. When this code sets, if it is not the plugs/wires, it is almost always the coils.

Other things to check are the fuel injectors. Check the resistance (ohms) individually and let me know the results.

Also, describe as best you can the current running condition of the engine? Include how it runs at various rpm's, temps, loads, etc.

Please don't close this question. The rating system means little to me, keeping slightly organized does. This question showed up earlier. When time became available I returned to answer only to have the question not show up. Now it is back again. Let's keep one question active.

HELLO do you have a spark tester????I have seen regular spark plugs show NO spark then plug in s spark tester boom spark rods about 1/4 inch shoot out!!!!!!!! okay so cam shaft sensor code appear then multiple cylinder miss fire code! sure sounds like one of those two coil packs are not producing!!!! think about this:how can a cam sensor work in harmony when the computer is malfunctioning due to multiple misfire! your car has thrown SOS codes to you through on board diagnostics Morris codes your ignoring them!!! if I was you I would take those coils and test for spark with a "spark" tester keep in mind to check them for resistance with a volt meter tops take out spark plugs they are probably soaked replace them to!!!!good luck I hope my shared experience has help you some what! How do i change the sparkplugs. an olds alero 99 3.4 130K ive done the front three but not the back three. help thanks mike

YOU NEED TO NUMBER TAG ALL SPARK PLUG WIRES ON COIL PACK MODULE IN ORDER SO YOU PUT THEM BACK IN ORIGINAL PLACE.REMOVE ALL PLUGS WIRES FROM COIL PACK.THEN DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ON COIL PACK MODULE THEN REMOVE COIL PACK.NOW YOU HAVE MORE ROOM TO GET TO BACK PLUGS.YOU NEED A LIGHT.A SMALL MECHANIC MIRROR.YOU NEED LONGER 3/8 EXTENSION.PROBABLY PLUG WIRE BOOT PULLER NOT MUCH ROOM TO PULL THE SPARK PLUG BOOT WITH HAND.

How to replace the ignition control module on a 94 Saturn SL

There are 4 bolts that hold the coil and module down. If you follow the spark plug wires, they will lead you to the right area. The bolts should be 8mm or close. The module is under the coil packs. Just unplug them and take them to Auto zone to test unless you are sure...then just reverse what you did, done.

Code 300

These have a lot of problems with the ignition coils. In darkness look at the coils for any signs of stray spark. If stray spark is present the coils need to be replaced. Note- Use extreme caution around moving engine parts! Do not attempt this if you cannot do so safely.

Give me an update and we'll continue as necessary.
