After removing the two screws, you have to grab both sides of the tail light housing and wiggle the housing out by rocking it left and right while GENTLY pulling it away from your body. You absolutely MUST be careful when doing this because if you use excessive force, you risk cracking the housing and even damaging the wiring.

I have already chipped the corner on BOTH of my housings when attempting to remove them. I had to super glue the pieces back on. It was not a happy moment.

07+ lancers you must remove the trunk side liners to remove the tail lights. its a pain in the but because you have to fold down the back seat then remove the liner. If you have a de model you should remove the back seat or you might damage the liner pulling it out.

I have a 2001 Saab 9-3. The spoiler is cracked. I'd like to take it off to repair. Can't figure out how to get it off? Anybody know?

look under the trunk lid. if there isplastic covering the inside trunk lid look for screws to take it off. if there are no screws present then it will just pop off...
But if there is no plastic cover just look on the inside where the spoiler contacts the roof and you should see some screws or some nuts.

Where is the spare for a 1989 Pontiac firebird

The spare is in the hatch and is a temporary spare (donut). Open the hatch and remove the passenger side rear compartment cover by turning the three "screws" half turns to release them. The jack and other tools are mounted behind the spare.

Where is the battery on a 2004 525i bmw

Passenger side rear quarter panel in the trunk (yeah, in the trunk, believe it or not). Look under the pass side tail light in the trunk you'll see the two screws holding down the cover.

Either hook the jumper cables to the battery in the trunk or hook the postive to the postive stud under the hood( passenger side near the firewall) and the ground to the block.

Broken trunk release button

I purchased a Chiltons through www.eautorepair.net and looked up the Relay for the trunk release button on the dash. I found the location under the fuse panel under the drivers side and found the relay was not pluged in. I conected the relay and to my dismay the button worked.
