Factor-installed car alarm keeps going off for no apparent reason

The alarm in my car keeps going off at random moments. I replaced the battery in the keyer and checked my fuses. The alarm light blinks three times then goes off while the alarm is not keyed. Could it be a sensitivity problem or a sensor with loose wiring?

I have a similar issue with 1991 Acura Legend LS. The factory alarm will periodically go off several minutes after exiting and locking the door either with the interior post or the from the outside with a key. (There is no key fob for this model year).

Somewhat related, I also had issues with the power door lock cycling to repeatedly try to lock the already locked car. I removed the fuse for the power locks until I could repair the lock bumper which may be the cause, but still have issues with the alarm.

First you need to check all your fuses with a test light. The 12 volt light switch wire for the ilumimation of your gauges is just a park light feed, the best way to find it is using test light,it can be found in radio plug or park light switch or fuse board.Your check engine light is not so easy ,first I would check the bulb in dash, then you need to make sure of you lose wire tap connections the check engine light needs a feed to it to come on you need to check your aftermarket ecu wiring diagram to see where this is or get hold of a factory one to find it to see if you can manual trip it with test light.

Hi, You need to replace the alarm siren. It is also a module. It is located in the right front fender well. The reason they go bad is because they are located in a place where they get wet.

It may be easier to just disconnect the battery at night. You could even buy a disconnect switch.
The siren is powered by a 10 or 15amp fuse number 12, but you would still have the hazard lights flashing. That is a different fuse. The actual keyless entry and alarm module gets power from several sources.

My keyless entry remote is not locking the doors when pressed. Also, the car alarm is going off randomly throughout the day. Researching online sound like it might be the MICU Fuse Box, any other ideas?

That sounds accurate. Put that is one of three possibilities. When was the last time your remote battery was replaced and also if this is an aftermarket item look into the wiring.

find the alarm box to adjust the sensitivity 9 times out of 10 time the alarm box is located on the opposite side of the engine away from the battery. but if it's a factory alarm you can call the dealer for the location better yet check the owner manual for the location.

The Alarm keeps going off , previous owner cut the horn wires so that part doesnt work but the lights just randomly start blinking and going on and off and cant cut it off. remote key chain is no longer...

The day time running light module on the back side of the front drivers fender likely needs to be replaced to fix your problem.Unplug it and the lights will work normally from the headlight switch but the day time running lights won,t work and also the high beam indicator light in the dash won,t come on when you switch to high beam but all the lights will work properly. You should replace the drl module as soon as you can but unplugging it will at least keep you from having to remove a battery cable.

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee alarm keeps randomly going off.

this happened to me recently with my 96 grand cherokee. the battery got drained by the alarm going off randomly at night. i pulled the fuse for the horn so at least my neighbors would only be bothered by flashing lights. then i couldn't jump the car because the alarm was still going off. i hooked my car to jump it to another car, and then i had to deactivate the alarm first by putting my key in the driver side door and unlocking the car. then i left it hooked to another car and still getting power but didn't jump it for at least 5 minutes in case the computer needed to reset. then it jumped fine. from what i've read online, this is a common problem that can be avoided if you stop using the power locks and always manually lock and unlock the doors with your key. its a little annoying, but apparently the power locks are connected to the alarm issue. hope the same works for you.
