The rear windows can't be adjusted to open all the way because of the shape of the door. It seems like it is a safety reason but in a ll reality it is because of the shape of the door over the rear wheel well that the window would not actually fit to slide all the way down.

I believe it is only able to open partially as a safety feature, to keep children from falling out of the window. No adjustment possible. I don't seem to remember large numbers of children spilling out of windows before this partial window opening thing took effect, though.

1999 GMC Yukon. Rear AC cooling great. Font AC not cooling as well. Replaced orfice syphon tube, vaccumed down and recharged with 2lbs R134a. Checked front temp controller. All checks ok. Front AC still...

If the rear is working well and front is not I would suspect a blend door or actuator issue in the front.Double check and see if you can hear anything moving when you are adjusting temperature from hot to cold. Also check and make sure the air flow moves properly from defrost to vents and floor etc.

How do you get the drum off a 1999 dodge caravan

Take a look here:

c17hydro_171.gif
Many times it is necessary to retract the shoes slightly by turning the adjuster
star (inside the brake drum) to remove the drum.

If the drum is difficult to remove, remove the plug from the rear brake support plate. Push the self adjuster lever away from the star wheel using a thin screwdriver. The lever and star wheel are accessed through the hole on the rear brake support plate. Rotate the star wheel using a brake adjusting tool to retract the shoes.

How to adjust rear brakes shoes on 1999 yukon is there slot for adjustment of shoes to get to star wheel or do you have to remove drum

Just did this job the other day. If you look at the drum backing plate, there is a small recess or indentation in the metal that can be drilled out and filed to give access to the star wheel. It's probably best to pull the drum to ensure you're drilling the correct location and eventually remove the metal filings, but once complete, it will allow for easy future adjustments.

there is nothing you can do to fix this problem...its the way the door is designed...the rear wheel wells protrude into the rear doors taking away the space needed for the windows to slide down into the door any further..suburbans do not have this design as they are longer and the back edge of the doors are straight without the rear wheel wells protruding into the door

Power window control

So as not to be repetitive, for the failure of your power driver side window and rear window, review this handy diagnostic article, which identifies the possible causes, from a bad fuse, relay to window motor, etc.:

This should help narrow down your particular cause.
