Question about 2001 Oldsmobile Alero
O2 alero- one more problem to throw in the pile...
cruize no longer staying engaged... stays on for 5 seconds or so, then switches off. Next try it wont work at all~ is this at all common? Maybe a fluke issue on this car?
I have the same issue. A mechanic told me that it's either a faulty switch (junkyard cheap) or a faulty ground wire in the steering column (mechanic expensive). Regardless, and I know this sounds a bit "ghetto", but I wedged a dime in between the button and the switch casing and the cruise stays on without issue. From everything I read, the steering column is a big no no due to the airbag. To me, problem solved for a dime. Cheapest fix ever. Hope it works for you.
