The ring comes on it about a half inch from the end of the axel where it goes in the tranny

You will have to get a pry bar in between the Trans and half shaft/ axle and use pushing force to remove. I've used leg power on certain cars to remove axle

How to remove knuckle / hub from front axle? Splines are binding, I've applied a puller, ball and tie rod ends removed and strut to knuckle bolts are loosened. I need to replace the outer CV joint. Any...

most likely the bearings in the hub are rusted to the axel. If you work at it you can use a point air chisel to push the axel shaft out you will have to replace the bearing in the hub. worst case you could take the hub and axel off together and press the axel out in a press. either way you will have to replace the hub bearing.

I have a 2003 toyota highlander with a failed cv joint. I want to change the whole axle, but i cannot get the axle out of the transaxle.

Okay after you get the outter part of axel free with rotor off and everything ,,,you have to get a small pry bar or flat screw driver what ever works and pry the small hub right after the boot there should be a small space where you can fit the pry bar between the hub on axel and trans houseing and pry it out Im doing a hyundai right now and looking for that just right space to do the same thing,,also when inserting the new axel it will push right in and you will hear the click when in all the way, if you cant get it send me a pic of the axel inserted into trans,,,,,,,,thunderz@live.com Ill help you get it out.

97 kia sephia axel

if your talking about the main axle bolt then you can buy a breaker bar and a large socket but you still have to almost stand on the breaker bar or you can buy an impact wrench cheap at any pawn shop.

I have taken everything apart on the right side but can't get the axle to come out of the tranny. What is the best way to get it to come loose. 2001 Kia Sephia with auto trans, right side. thanks

Sometimes these axles are tough to remove, sometimes you may have to tap the outside of the axle with either a brass hammer or rubber mallet (as not to damage the outer part of the axle) adthen try and pull out the axle shaft. You may also have to try pry bar behind the axle shaft (where it goes into the transmission) and slightly pry out away from the transmission to release the ring lip that holds it in place inside the transmission. Hope this helps.
