Question about 2002 Toyota 4Runner
My crankshaft pulley on my toyota 4runner has start to wobble but the bolt seem to be in tact .Can i just replace the pulley without replacing the crank any helpful hint you can give .
Yes, in most cases you can. The crankshaft pulley is bolted to the front of the crank shaft by either 1 large bolt and thick washer, or by 4 small bolts around the edge of inside of the pulley, depending on model.
Remove all belts that are driven by the crankshaft pully and then grasp the pully to see if it is loose in some way.
To remove the large bolt(if that's what you have), will require the use of a strap wrench which can be gotten for the free loan-A-tool from Autozone.
Only if the end of the crankshaft was damaged in some way would you have to replace the crankshaft.
If you would like to contact me again about this or other problems, feel free to do so.
