Question about 2001 GMC Jimmy
2001 jimmy will start but as soon as i turn it off i have to wait till it cools down to start
can this be the fuel pump or filter
I'm not familiar with your truck but this sounds like a cold-start valve that is stuck and allowing excessive gasoline into the intake system.
If this is the case, you probably have miserable gas mileage right now since the engine would be running rich continuously.
Starting it warm, probably is causing some mild flooding and getting the plugs wet so they can't fire.
Try this: with the engine hot/warm; press the accelerator slowly all the way down, then try starting it. If it starts this way, this would be an indication that the engine is getting too much fuel for its temperature and opening the air supply fully helps to change the air-fuel ratio sufficiently to allow it to start.
