Question about 1999 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup

Truck runs fine but starts sputtering

When i first star my truck it runs fine but after about 10 minutes or when the motor gets warmed up the motor starts to sputter and skip. it use to only happen when it was really wet outside, i would put some gumout in it and that would clean it up but now it does the skipping after it gets warmed up. please help.

Sounds like a spark plug wire or plug problem, how many miles on truck?

if there is electronic throttle then probably needs replacement, get second hand one , or otherwise can try to take it out and clean it, if there is an access to electronic part of it try it open carefully and clean contacts with some alcohol, sometimes it helps

because the combustion inside the engine is going wrong the quantity of air getting inside is not the needed quantity maybe less than or more in cold will cause such problem once the engine warm up than the engine temperature is up you will not find this problem because the point of firing will be near

Acceleration problem


possibly camshaft position sensor in the distributor, or weak fuel fump starts acting up when warm, or throttle position sensor. heat has a effect on sensors and electrical components in some weird and hard to find ways.

Sounds to me like your choke is malfunctioning. Take the cover off of your carb when cold and see if the choke (top buttefly valve) is closed. It should be when cold. (you do not say what year truck you have so I am guessing as to the answer)

under the dash on the driver side the mane full relay may need replacing or its the full pump
