Heater blows cold on 02 chevy silverado 1500 4.3 V6

The heater blows cold as if the vent is constantly on. When I turn on the recycle air feature it blows even colder like i turned on the A/C. I changed the thermostat out with a new duralast thermostat. This did not fix my problem. What else might cause this and how do I fix it?

I have the same problem with my 2000 Silverado 5.3L. The heater hose going from the engine to the heater core feels hot, but the heater hose going from the heater core to the engine feels cooler. I've heard that this can be due to an air pocket, and that it can be fixed by removing the radiator cap and letting the engine run for an hour - I haven't tried that yet.

Left Vents blow warm/hot air when calling for cold air

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the ac and heater core along with the upper and lower vents.

1997 chevy silverado blows hot air only through vents

If you know for a fact the compressor is running and one of the lines is cold, I would look for a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater and evaporator.

2003 chevy silverado air does not blow through vents. Condenser works. Pipes are cold. Fan works. Modular (next to fan) repalced to get fan to work. Heater air conditioner controls under radio replaced....

The air vents are control by vacuum line and or linkage.

Listen for hiss or feel for vacuum leak under the dash,

Feel for broken linkage(s) that are close to the vents.

WORK BACKWARD if you have small hands to feel out where is the missing link.

I have a 2003 chevy silverado that is blowing hot air through the vents when the temp is set at its coldest setting

check under the dash to see if the blend door is operating, this ian internal door between the heater core and the a/c evaporator. also check that the drain hose from the evaporator make sure its clear and water is coming out of it,otherwise the evaporator will freeze solid and therefore no cold air

none of the above, the vent door is stuck inthe open position most probable cause is vacum leak look closer to your fire wall and you will see a very thin vacum hose going into the vehice which seems to be unpluged!!
