Hey , I have a problem with my A4. It just wont start. I have a brand new battery , the starter is working perfect, i've got fuel. My battery lost it power and i replace it with new , and now it doesn't want to start. Please Help :)
Have you tested the battery for power drain. If not, this should be your first step to a solution. If there is any aftermarket audio equipment, radars, gps, etc. One may be pulling enough current to drain the battery. If you know how to test for this sort of thing great, if not take it to any local car audio store, car toys, best buy, circuit city, even auto zone and have them test for current drain. This is a time staking process. The negative terminal of the battery must be detached and in line with your multimeter. You must then wait for all of the cars computers, lights, etc. to turn off. If there is current drain, you should be able to go through the vehicle and unplug any aftermarket equipment one by one to see which is the source....also pulling fuses may help as well. (keep in mind that during testing, if any door is open, hood light switched on, you will not get an accurate reading.) I highly reccomend consulting with a professional.

There is a power in the battery , the previous was too old. But now I have power in the battery the starter turns on but the engine do not start... It's like there is no fuel , but the fuel pump is working. Someone told me that the computer may block the starting because of the low battery and there was some way with the battery plus wire to connect and disconnect to reset the computer but i don't know how to do it. Any ideas ?!
I had a similar problem where with a good battery, the car would turn over normally but would never start. It turned out to be the blue coolant temperature sender (for the ecu) located at the gearbox end of the engine just next to the outlet on the head. I replaced that and the thing started as normal.
1996 a4 changed battery now it wont turn over to start engine
