Question about 2000 Chrysler Concorde

When turning the steering wheel-there is a squeal.

I have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde. I have noticed a squeal in the front area (it sounds like the tire area) when I turn the steering wheel. At first it was only when I turned the wheel really far, now it happens any time I turn. Any ideas?

There isn't a power steering belt. It's all done by the serpentine belt which is fine. Thanks though.

Flush the power steering system there is probably some buildup making the pump work harder and it is causing the belt to squeal.

Front of car squeals when turning .Feels like a tire was wobbly going on the highway. Real screachy sound ....any idea what may be going on it or possibilities ???

There are several possible causes, varying in severity, that could be responsible:

  • Lack of power steering fluid
  • Bad or worn serpentine belt - would slip when turning causing a squeal and/or difficulty steering
  • Bad wheel bearings - this would cause the wheel to wobble, and squeal on turns
  • Bad ball joint(s)
  • Bad steering box

Where is my oil filter on my 1997 chrysler concorde... trying to change the oil and can't find it

turn the steering wheel to the left. Look behind the drivers front tire. In between the sub-frame and the uni-body right behind the alternator or power steering pump.

My right front tire makes a squealing noise from

that sounds to me like your brake pads may be dragging or your wheel bearing is shot

Squeal sound coming from front passenger tire area, gotten worse, don't notice any difficulty turning

Could possibly be the brake ware indicator telling you your pads need to be replaced,

Jack the car up and see if the problem occurs when you manually turn the wheel. If so, remove the wheel and inspect the front bakes.

Steering wheel squeeks. sounds like a rubber bushing squeek when turning wheel.

CHECK THE INNER TIE-RODS LOCATED BEHIND THE CENTER OF THE ENGINE. NEAR THE FIREWALL. THERE YOU WILL FIND THE TWO TIE-RODS CONNECTED BY A FIGURE 8 LOOKING DEVICE. WHILE AN ASSISTANT TURNS THE STEERING WHEEL, TAKE NOTE OF THE LOSS OF MOTION FOUND IN THE STEERING. BY REPLACING THIS INNER TIE-ROD ASSEMBLY, YOU WILL REGAIN THE LOSS OF MOTION IN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE FRONT TIRES WHICH MAY BE WEARING OUT ON THE INSIDES OF THE TREADS. HOPE THIS HELPS. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

it does sound like wheel bearing a cv joint dont make noise and then stop but you can jack the car up and in neutral try to shake the tire from side to side.to see if you have any play then turn the wheel by hand try to feel for roughness in bearing. let me know what you find. Phil.
