All of the electrical components inside the truck are dead, including the radio and all of the lights, and the engine wont turn over at all. Tried to jump the battery but that didn't work. Could this be a relay or a fuse or something bigger. Would appreciate any ideas.

Re: 2001 Ford Ranger will not start
Use commercial grade jump leads and not the cheap chinese **** for a euro, these are only charge cables not mechanics cables that are pure copper and as thick as you middle finger without the insulation, anything less and it will laugh at you

You may have loose or corroded terminals at the battery, that will affect the alternator's ability to charge, affect all electrical components including the radio. So you end up with radio and starting problems.
check the cat wires on the plug, the only other thing is to have the engine management computer checked to see what codes are on it,(ECU). sometimes the plug seals go on the electrics and water gets in and shorts out the electrics. so you could check these.
Doublecheck your battery voltage with the engine running. If it's above about 15V, TURN THE ENGINE OFF and get the regulator replaced! That's a classic symptom of a bad voltage regulator - I've seen it burn out everything on the vehicle - including the ignition.
how old is the battery get it checked and make sure the connections at the the battery and the terminal on the stsrter pos. post are tight. find the grd term on the engine and make sure every thing is good and tight
Sounds a lot like it's been under water.
I found unplugging things 1 at a time and reconnecting shaves the corrosion off. Check the Earth wire as well. Door sensor sounds like it's slightly out of alignment.
Your saying that if you exceed 92mph the engine just shuts down (off)? Does your engine light go on? If so can you retrieve any codes? You may want to inspect the trucks repair history. See when the last tune-up was done. Including the fuel-filter. Also look at the fuel-line pressure. See if the wiring to the crank positioning sensor is covered in oil and-or is on good shape. The more information the better.
check the connections on your startermotor are all ok... mainly earthing... try using your jumpers to ground the engine to your battery... and hey try push starting... dont need a starter motor that way and lets you know if the engine is ok
