Question about 1992 Ford Taurus
Recently i was driving for about an hour when my car started to overheat, i stopped for about 30 min to let it cool then began to drive again. about 2 min later my car cut off completely. the water pump was smoking so i unscrewed the top to let it cool, when i did this i noticed green fluid in the water (i think antifreeze). a while later i checked on my car and noticed all the water had leaked out, and under my car fluid was also leaking out (again i think antifreeze, but not for sure). i'd like to know what the problem is? and can i fix it myself, if not how much should it cost?
It might be a hose about $10 not to hard to change.. if its the water pump its about $50 its not that easy you have to remove timing belt and make sure everything lines up right and depending how bad it overheated you could have other problems like a warped head or head gasket if you take it in for water pump it will cost about $250
