Question about 2000 Ford Focus
The engine died so we checked the fuel pump and changed the filter. Theres spark at the plugs. It just doesnt seem to want to do anything. The engine turns over fine
You also need to make sure the fuel line is clear. Make sure there is nothing in the fuel line itself.

Do you have power to the pump ?? if power to pump then pump needs changing ,if no power to pump then either a fuse has gone ,fuse holder connections or the relay which is on top of the fuse box ,on the escort its the last one on the right front row a small green one but havent done a focus one yet but its no doubt the same ,check the connections on the pump end as well.,if power into relay on one of the small connections but it still doesnt click then run a earth wire to opposite side ,this is to do with the immobiliser but iam not saying more.if it clicks but still doesnt work the check for power on the larger spade connectors ,if no power then its a supply problem check the fuses .a temporay soloution if this is the case is to apply a 12 v supply from battery to the lager spade connectors one or the other will make pump start.if you remove the sender unit with the pump make sure the gauze filter is in place as only a minute piece of rust will jam the pump up.
