Need to know how to change the AC belt on a 2003 Chevy silverado 2500HD 2x4

You have to remove the main serpentine belt first. this is done with a 15mm wrench put on the tensioner. then from the bottom you can get to the a/c belt tensioner. install a 3/8 ratchet on it and remove tension from belt. I find the only way to get belt on and off is too slip it off the tensioner then off the backside of crank pulley then slide off of a/c compressor then install new belt onto the crank letting it fall off the backside run belt around compressor tensioner then work around crank pulley

2003 chevy trailblazer...altenator replace..how do i take off tension from belt


its spring loaded, some have a slot so a ratchet head goes in the slot then pry to release and hold to remove belt,

Alternator needs to be replaced


There is a spring tensioner on it.Pull back to loosen belt.The same to refit belt
