1. Raise the hood 2. Remove the long black plastic piece that extends from the top of one headlight to the top of the other. Pulling out the tops of the plastic pop rivets usinging diagonal cutter pliers to grip them (don't cut them) works well. 3. Remove the headlight assembly by removing the two 13mm shouldered bolts. Lift the headlight assembly out of the way but you don't need to disconnect it. 4. Reach down and turn the bulb socket 1/4 turn counter clockwise and then down to remove. The bulb pulls straight out.
Note: Removing the mud shield in the wheel well doesn't work, as there are intake ducts blocking access to the turn lamp assembly.

1997 cavalier turn signals

Your left turn signal relay might be out, if i remember correctly, it's located in the fuse box, and is as easy as changing a fuse. If it isnt in the fuse box under your dash then check under the hood, possibly near the battery.

Turn signals not working 1996 cavalier . How do you change flasher

Turn your hazard lights on and listen for the clicking near your accelerator and brake pedals. Your flasher for your turn signals should be next to it. Just pulls out.

Chevy Cavalier 2001 turn signal blinks fast

If new bulbs don't work, it is probably the harness that holds the bulb. I had to replace both on my car after fighting with the problem for over a year and not knowing.

Chev Cavalier 2003 only one rear turn/brake/hazard light

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier that had the same exact problem. I replaced the bulb harness (purchased from a chevy dealership for around $5) which was fairly easy to do. I have had zero problems with it since.
