If you do not have an owners manual for the car, a pdf version can be downloaded here

There are two fuse boxes. One is located on the kick panel in front of the passenger side seat. Remove the big cover. Inside there is a second cover that ultimately gets you to the fuses. Try #20 (reference the template on the inside of the cover). There is a second fuse box (high current fuses) inside the engine compartment (on the passenger side of the compartment, big square plastic box). Fuse # 56 (reference the template inside the cover of the fuse box). Same deal.

By the way, there is a fuse removal tool inside the interior fuse box (white plastic piece on the left side of the box). You will need that removal tool to work on the ones in the engine compartment. That other box doesn't have a tool.
Hope this helps.

Power on, clock works, CD works, NO SOUND from the radio

Check the speaker wires maybe they have worked loose. And speakers themselves as they may blown. Do you have an amp if so check its fuse. Also check for inoperative interior lights, lighter, and horn. One of these circuits will power the radio's memory circuit. Some radio models will appear to work normally but have no sound if the memory fuse is blown. The clue is the clock will reset to 12:00 each time you turn on the ignition switch.

Radio, CD player, Sync, clock stopped working on my 2008 Ford Explorer

Most likely a fuse. If your fuse box is labeled it will say radio under the fuse. If its not check your owners manual for location of fuse box and radio fuse.

Installed a new battery and suddenly my cd player reads "error" when I insert a cd. Could this be a fuse or something? Anything I can try to fix it? I think it's part of the theft deterrent sys

usually a blown fuse will shutdown your radio until u get a new fuse so im not thinking fuse.... is the laser that reads cds is that clean???? if unsure they make cds with brushes on the bottom of them and as u put them in it brushes off that laser as the cd with brushes spins. or even simpler just try blowing out the inside maybe its just dirty or a cheap radio. cheap radios cause a lot of problems.... hope i helped....... Same thing happened to my 2005 tahoe. I pulled two fuses out (panel located under the hood on drivers side), put them back in, and now it takes cds again. Drove me nuts for days. Radio also worked, just didn't take in cds.

2003 BMW CI Convertable Radio/CD Problem

Had the same problem with my '03 330xi. Navigation worked fine but radio and CD did not work at all. I opened the fuse box located in the glove compartment to check the three fuses associated with the navigation system and radio. #7, #39, and #41. All three fuses were intact so I put them back in. I then put the key into the ignition, turned it to position 2 and miraculously the radio came to life. I guess it acted as some type of reset?
