I doubt the thermostat is the problem. Look for a wire on the coolant reserve tank. there should be a sensor in there somewhere. Chances are it's giving a false reading. Repair any electrical shorts or opens in th circuit.

COOLANT LEAVELS HOW TO CHECK

Smokes out of tailpipe? You added antifreeze to the coolant reservoir? Did you try taking off the radiator cap and see if it is full? Do this with engine cool. Was the engine ran low on coolant? Bleeders may need to be opened slightly on each end of the engine to bleed out air in system. If coolant is full and bleeders are bled out and it continues to smoke out of exhaust then the head gaskets are probably bad.

Low coolant light stays on

Are you using Dexcool, or have you replaced the coolant with standard Green antifreeze? If you replaced the Dexcool with standard green antifreeze, the low coolant indicator may give false readings. An extremely dirty reservoir bottle can cause the same problem.

Wheres does the antifreez coolant/ i think i have a whole

First of all I believe you mean the Windshield Washer Fluid bottle, the Antifreeze Coolant goes in the Coolant Recovery Bottle,

If the warning light does not go out there is a sensor in the bottle, the sensor could be dirty or does not work, check that for now.

My car is leaking antifreeze onto the ground under the reserve tank. It is not overheating and of course after the coolant has leaked out my low coolant light comes on. I added more but there was still...

If your coolant light turn on sometimes, and you can check that your coolant level is low, definitly you have a leak.

I suggest check this artricle about how to detecting coolant leak

Hope this help (remember rated and comment this).

Well, top off the overflow tank to the marks as indicated based on engine temperature, and see if it happens again, and note how long it took for it to happen.

Check engine light - low antifreeze

Chanses are the shop did chk. the coolant in the resavor and probly top it off but did not chk.the radiator witch was low and it drew out of resavor to fill radiator witch is the correct way to fill the radiator, just fill it back up with 50/50 (no water.) I don't think that would make the light come on, as you have a low coolant light for that. For piece of mind have it scaned to find out way the chk.engine light came on.

Fuse to turn off low coolant light on dashboard

there are no fuses for that. there is a sensor on the coolant tank that senses when you need to add antifreeze. Check for coolant level and add if low if not low you need a new sensor.

Low Coolant light stays on

Check you coolant resevoir. The low coolant switch is located in the resevoir so if it is low on coolant there, the light will come on. If it is full, it could be that the switch is stuck due to gunk build up in the resevoir. Hope this helps you out
