I own a 2009 SantaFe. The check engine light goes on and off and I have twice lost power when accelerating. I went to a local Auto Zone and was told that I am getting codes P210, P1295, & P0638.

Service engine light is on, with no error codes

Disconnect the negitive battery cable for an hour. This should clear it. Also check the oil levels. Its possible they didnt fill them to the proper levels.

I failed the emission test and I also went to get an check engine light test from Auto Zone. I received the codes P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 and the results that I received from Auto Zone was valve...

A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s)
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
Faulty camshaft position sensor
Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Hope helps.

I just bought a 2006 dodge grand caravan with 66,000 miles on it and the check-engine light came on!!! It seems to still drive fine but I am not sure what this is caused from!!!

Take it to Advance Auto Parts, or Auto Zone, they will scan your computer for free to get the code and tell you what it means. May just be a sensor, or the gas cap isn't tight (emissions) may or may not be serious. Thanks.

I have p0300 code. Went to Auto zone which said all 6 cyl are misfiring. What could cause this

seems a bit impossible, it is highly unlikely for this to be happening and the vehicle still run. p0300 is random misfire. not sure if it has coil packs but if it does thats where i would start.. you can remove them and have them checked\ or you can do it yourself if your careful to not get a little shock. just pull th plug wire off at the coil listen for change in engine idle or hold it close to the post on the coil and watch for a spark to go across from the wire to the coil post where you removed the wire. avoid that auto-zone who told you all cylinders were misfiring.

Can't get check engine light off

Take your car to Auto Zone and have then run a FREE SCAN to your computer in your car. If something comes up that is wrong they will tell you what is needed. If nothing comes up have them clear the codes from your cars computer

Check engine light on and will not go off went

if its code p0442 the most common problem is gas cap unless they reset the code for u the vehicle has to cycle- start up a few times or reset after certain amount of miles are driven--but-- this code also can b a cracked, broken,or disconnected vent line,go back to auto zone have them rescan and check for code and have them reset the trouble code if it comes back on than a problem still is present
