Re: 1990 Lincoln TC fuel pump dead
From the ignition switch or the starter, power is taken fromeither of these points to fire the fuel pump on start. This is what charges the fuel system so that you can start. then your fuel pump goes into run mode.
If someone can make a power check on the wiring going to the fuel pump with the engine is being cranked, you can possibly solve your problem.

No driver module shown on the wiring diagram for 89-98 models. There is an EEC relay that powers the fuel pump relay. The fuel pump relay is grounded by the PCM. The voltage goes from the fuel pump relay thru the inertia switch and on to the pump.
the enginr oil pressure switch runs the fuel pump till the oil pressure is up to the normal operating range. When the pressure is up the relay kicks in and takes over the power to the pump. The oil pressure switch my be at fault if you can no hear the pump running when you turn the key on
If you do not have a Service manual, try Autozone or Oreillys for information about fusible links. The fuel pump relay gets its power from a fusible link.
Try entering the Security code on the door keypad to see if the Antitheft is working against you. Then try to start vehicle.
try restting the inertia switch in the trunk. When you turn key to "ON", the fule pump will run for only 5 seonds if the engine does not start. Listen at the fuel tank for humming of the pump.
The PCM, Powertrain Control Module controls the fuel pump relay. So, when you turn key on, the power relay powers up the PCM and the PCM powers up the fuel pump relay.
fuel pump inside fuel tank accessed by removing plate on forward facing tank panel.
Inertia switch is inside boot/trunk
Ign module is plugged into side of distributor.
The coil is a standard 12 v ignition coil.
The ecm is located projecting through the bulkhead (firewall) by the drivers feet.
You can access the trouble codes with a scanner plugged into the socket in the engine compartment drivers side or by counting flashes of light on a 12v testing light as described in the Haines Manual
My fuel pump on my 1998 Lincoln Continental has no power. I checked the fuse it is good. I checked the fuel shutoff switch it was fine. I have traced the wire from the fuel shutoff switch to the fuel module driver in the trunk. The wire has power. I have also traced the positve wire from the fuel pump to the fuel driver on a different terminal, this wire has no power from the pump. I also changed the fuel driver, the low fuel pressure switch, the alternator, and battery.does anyone have any suggestion's?
