Question about 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser
When I'm driving my toyota land cruiser 1991 2L turbo I'm hearing a ringing sound like there is a loose washer contacting against a loose nut. I checked the all the nuts and bolts on the engine and accesories, climbed down and checked the under chassis and found nothing loose. The ringing sound only occurs when the jeep is in motion and stops when the jeep is stationary.
What could be causing this ringing sound?
Noise producers on vehicles include the worn brake pad indicator that rubs on the disc when the pads are dangerously low , loose seal shields on the diff pinions , tail shaft noise from failing bearings , "U" joints , center bearing supports and shields for that bearing touching the support bracket from failed bearing rubber mount
if is only heard when moving ,what I am suggesting that everything that turns has to be carefully inspected
for example a bit of rock stuck between the diff flange seal shield and the diff housing will create a noise that is amplified by the tail shaft

I am assuming that you have a series 80 diesel engine and that it has run for about 100,000 kms hence the warning light and the changing of the timing belt. Based on the instructions of its repair manual you need to "remove the grommet off from the speedometer and turn off the lamp by pushing the warning light reset switch, then replace the grommet." Alternately, you can try to reset the entire computer of the vehicle by removing the battery cables for a couple of minutes. Pls note that some car radios/head units would revert to security default (ask for a code) when power is completely removed.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
