Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

1 Answer

1995 olds cierra

Rt rear power window stuck open. I removed the trim panel and manually raised it up. There are 5 wires that go into the rt rear window single switch. I would like to just cut the power to this window which I seldom use anyway and the car is old. Which wire or wires can I cut to bypass this window only and allow the other 3 windows to continue to operate?
If I cut all 5 wires will the other windows still operate or are they all tied together?
Your help wouldbe appreciated.
Thanks

You can disconect the plug from window motor and the rest of the windows will still work... you can cut the wires if you want to but tape the ends so they dont short out or you will have other problems..

A common thing to fial on these- assumning the grid is ok, and wires are still attched to grid, is the rear def / antenna module. It is behind rt. rear quarter trim panel. The modules burn up, and also melt the connector. the module and connector would need to be replaced.

You fist have to take the rear door panel off to see if the window fell of the track. If it has electric windows determine if the moto is running.
