Question about 1992 Ford Mustang
Hello i have a bone stock 92 5.0 that will not start...it was running the other day started right up i let it warm up, shut it off for a few min and then for the first time it started real hard i had to turn the key for a good 5 to 10 seconds so i drove the car to the ''liquor'' store :) and parked the car for about a week...i went to start it this morning and it was just cranking cranking cranking...it never fired. i checked for spark and its good. obviously it has compression and the fuel pump humms for a few secs when i put the key in the on pos after thit the pumps stops humming i he key and nothing. i replaced the fuel filter thinking it may be clogged and still nothing....i pushed in the shraeder valve on the fuel rail thinking...fuel only dripped out. .....im kinda baffled the car only has 14k original on it i have a 9 sec street mustang i built head to toe and i cant figure out a lil problem like this...any ideas??
I have the same problem wit my 92 gt,,,just today it happened,,,"cranks but wont start"= IGNITION SWITCH,,,it has spark, fuek pump and fuel pressure is all good,,,

Mine's doing the same thing except i noticed the ECM has no power going to it either, I put a new ignition switch in about 3 years ago (only put on 4000 miles since) I'll give the switch a try and respond.

Hi, the first thing i always do with a no start condition is spray a little starting fluid in the intake and see if it starts for a second or two. If it does then it is some type of a fuel problem. There is a fuel pump relay under the drivers seat I believe. Usually if you can hear the pump go on then most likely it works but maybe low pressure. If you spray the starting fluid and nothing happens i would check the spark side. Sometimes you may see spark but it is too weak. I alway have good luck using these basic tips. Hope this helps.
