my solution came from the internet on a site other than yours, so I can't rate your service. I did not want to pay for info if it was free and that's the way it turned out. As I said thanks anyway.

2009 outback locks unlocks with master sw in door wont lock with this sw new sw??

There are many reports about the door switches developing bad contacts. A bad contact in a door switch could affect the actuator operation when using a individual switch or the main, driver's, switch.
May be just bad electrical contacts. If you hear a momentary noise when trying it then it's something
else.

What causes a malfunction in power locks?

The power door locks are controlled by the BCM -body control module ! The door lock switch is an input to the BCM .
The BCM, upon receipt of a door lock switch lock or unlock signal, will switch the appropriate door lock actuator control circuits to battery positive voltage. The opposing side of the door lock actuators are connected to ground internally within the BCM through the other door lock actuator control circuit and the doors will lock or unlock appropriately.
First thing to do would be check power an ground circuits at the BCM ! Do you have any other systems not working -power windows etc...
The DR/LCK fuse supplies battery positive voltage to the I/P fuse block for the door lock system. The body control module (BCM) supplies and monitors a reference voltage to the door lock switch through the door lock switch lock/unlock signal circuit. The door lock switch also receives a constant ground source. If a door lock switch is placed in the lock position or unlock position, the reference voltage is taken directly to ground and the BCM detects the voltage drop on the signal circuit.
Should have BCM checked for stored DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes !
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Driver Door Lock Sw, Psgr Door Lock Sw, Driver Door Unlock Sw and Psgr Door Unlock Sw parameters while using the driver and passenger door lock switches. The parameters should change between Active and Inactive.
?‡'
If the values does not change between the commanded states, refer to Door Lock Switch Malfunction.

Command the driver door and passenger door lock actuators to LOCK and UNLOCK with the scan tool, the doors should LOCK and UNLOCK when changing between commanded states.
?‡'
If a door lock actuator does not perform the LOCK and UNLOCK functions, refer to Door Lock Malfunction

Locks on Back Doors, and more...

This is because your master switch on the drivers door may have corroded oxidation on the contacts inside the switch and that master switch is the feed for all inside door lock switches your remote and keypad work because those electrical signals go through the driver door module you must clean all contacts on the master switch get them shiny you can use 4/0 steel wool and alcohol and also take the lock switch apart and clean the button contacts inside the switch for this use alcohol and 1000 grit sandpaper glued to a pencil and lightly spin in your fingers to shine the contacts sometimes just an eraser works but it depends on the quality of it so go with the sandpaper glued to the pencil or any circular object that will fit inside after this blow out the switch and use the alcohol to clean out and let dry

A piece of plastic broke of from brake pedal...brake lights stay on

Glue it back on--your not serious?

You said the brake lights stay on
Don't you want to diagnose that first?

That's you battery issue

The brake switch will have to be replaced,
not glued,if it is broken

You don't seem to be able to reason anything out

Glove box latch is broken cant open it want to replace it but cant remove it

Guess what? Volkwagen makes you buy the entire glove box assembly, including lock and door in gray, black or beige for around $145. No way to fix the latch because it is encased in sealedand glued plastic. Good luck! Mine just broke, also.

4 door 2001 chevy blazer front power locks will not work.

SOUND LIKE THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK SWITCH IS STUCK IN THE UNLOCK POSITION. SINCE THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK SWITCH OVER-RIDES THE PASSENGER DOOR, I WOULD REPLACE THE SWITCH WITH A NEW ONE. HOPE THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM. GOOD LUCK. KEEP US POSTED, WE ARE ANXIOUS TO KNOW.

Remote key will not lock doors

there is a alarm mechanism inside the drivers door that has fallin off if you go the the passenger door and unlock it first the alarm will be disabled. what you would have to do is take the drivers side door panel off and look at the lock mechanism there should be a triangle shaft comeing out the back of it and there should be a black peice attached to a wire dangling in the door that needs to be glued back on but make sure to no glue the part of the peice that needs to rotate then test to see if it works before installing the door panel back on.

The front guide (that is attached to the window and slides into the regulator) has probably come off or is lose. These are glued to the window and hard to get to. Best advise is to remove the window, re-glue, then replace window in the regulator guides.

The regulator is the scissor mechanism that raises and lowers the window.
