hi there i would try cheking the altornator as if this is faulty then it would not charge the battery and when you jump start it it will run but due to the alternator being faulty it will not be sending the signal back to the ecu so it will shut the engine down hope this helps ben
Passats can be reset if the radio is pulled out and the fuse on the back is removed. Wait for 2 mins, reinsert the fuse and turn the radio on. If this doesn't work, please take it to the dealer for the unlocking of the code, for which he may charge you some fee.
We had the same problem. It was an expensive fix--there apparently was a problem with the onboard computer that would periodically lock out the ignition circuit. Felt just like a bad starter solenoid--but the part cost $800, plus labor, to replace. Ouch.
hi if the electrical side is ok leaves two options mechanical or fuel so if you can let me know what happened leading up to the car not starting i will be able to point you in the right direction it seems funny you should mention the security system [this does control the fuel pump but what makes you think this may be the problem, yates210456
