Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

2005 Nissan Altima, 2.5L failing to start

I tried the turning the key on for 5 sec. then off for 10 sec. then repeated again and tried to start, I also tried depressing the gas 1/5 of the way down, cranked 5 or 6 times, tried to turn over, I believe it is firing, but it wouldn't turn over, then I depressed the pedal all the way down in case I flooded it and cranked it again 5 or 6 times, but won't start, but still firing, the car has never failed to start before, and is also parked at a slight incline, is only 43 degrees farenhite outside and the car has between a quarter and a half of tank of gas.

my 2005 Altima sometimes will not start. I know its getting fire but its like its not getting gas and when it does start its like its flooding. I have cranked on it so many times I have ran down the battery. It dont do this every time but it is becoming more frequent.

Went to gas station after half hour drive. Went to start wouldn't start. Coding p1610 lock code. Why would it do this after I already drove it. Doesn't make sense to me. 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5

Tech notes This code is usually triggered when a not registered or damaged key is used to start the engine. When the starting operation is carried out five or more times consecutively with the same unregistered key, the system will lock. If the problem occurs try disconnecting the car battery for about 30 minutes and then try starting the engine with a known registered key. If the problem persist you have to have the dealer erase the code and reprogram the keys again.

If problem persist after disconnecting the car battery, try the following:

ESCAPE FROM LOCK MODE
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Turn ignition switch ON with registered key. (Do not start engine.) Wait 5 seconds.
3. Return the key to OFF position.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 twice (total of three cycles).
5. Start the engine.

2005 Nissan Altima knocking noise when engine starts.

By chance did you check your oil level. That would be ideal before your engine blows out. If that is fine, more in likely it maybe normal. Some GM vehicles do that also due to the cold weather. After sitting for a long period of time the oil will settle in the oil pan til you crank up. The knocking noise may last for 5-10 sec then it stops because the oil is lubricating the pistons again. But if it is constant and oil level is good, get a mechanic to check it out. Hope this helps.

I have a 05' nissan altima , when starting the car i hear a beep that last 15-20 seconds then when turning it off it occurs again .. any ideas on what this could be ?

Is it a series of three beeps?then the car thinks the key is in the ignition and you need a cylinder. If it is a long steady beep it is because the headlights are on and it is alerting you. The body control module will time out the lights and the beep stops. The transponder key did not come out til 2007. So the beep is not be ause the fob is in tthe car. That is NOT your key system in a 2005. 10 years at nissan.

My nissan serena air bag light flashes on and of

"If you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds (the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on (but not start) and then start to flash. Here is how to reset it:

1. Turn the key from off to on.

2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .)

4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times.

5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry.

6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again."

How do you reset driver airbag warning light on 2000 Nissan Frontier?

if you have the airbag light, it will show steady for a few seconds(the manual says 7 secs) after you turn the key from off to on(but not start) and then starts to flash. heres how you reset it, that is if there isn't any under layin problems in the system.

1. turn the key from OFF to ON

2.watch the aifr bag light closely. it will stay on for a few secs, and then as soon as it blinks off(the start of the flashing), turn the key off instantly.

3. count to 5 (1 mississippi, 2 mississippi.. ect..)

4. repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle 3 tinmes

5. now turn the key on and watch the light. it will start blinking in a different, slower manner. this is diagnostic mode. you can watch it for alittle while, no hurry.

6. now turn the key off again, count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn it back on. if the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing.

if it doesn't work the first time, just repeat the steps again. if it doesn't work after the second try, there is more than likely something work with the srs system and needs to be serviced by the dealer.

this seams to be a standard airbag reset for all newer nissian vehicles

Outside temperature display on rear view mirror

Here are the instructions to reset flashing airbag light, the instructions are for an Armada but I believe it will work on all Nissan models of this period. It wont hurt to give it a try. If that doesn't work you may have a problem that should be looked at by your local Dealer.

>>>
