Question about 1996 Plymouth Neon
I start it it putters real bad and the shuts off. Can it be the fuel pump fuse? I think its the fuel pump but i would rather it be a 7$ fuse than a 200$ fuel pump. If you have any ideas as to how to fix it please let me know.
Check the fuse and relay for the fuel pump if they check out ok then its either the pump or the wiring.(heres a simple check to determine if the fuel pump is working or not...In a quiet area remove the fuel cap then have someone turn the key to run(not start) keep your ear close to the opening of the fuel filler neck and listen for a buzzing or whirring noise) another way to check for fuel is to remove the cap on the fuel pressure relief valve (with the key in the run position) depress the stem of the relief valve with a screw driver or a key (stand Clear!) if fuel spurts from the relief valve opening then your problem is elsewhere.
hope this helps.....Good luck!
