I'm not sure this will fix it, but it's the "obvious" solution if it's real simple. Is there a button above the radio that says "black panel" ? If so press it and the lights would come back on. If that's not it, then it's probably a blown fuse. Open the fuse box (see owner's manual for location on your model and year) and look at the fuses to see if any are discolored or broken.

D4 light started blinking, speedometer stopped working and mileage gauge

Vehicle speed sensor. Top of the tranny is a connection. From this, a cable runs to the back of the odometer. Probably need to replace it

Transmisson not working right, check engine light stays on, odometer stop working and speedometer all at same time.

Get it scanned, will tell you a lot. Willing to bet its a speed sensor of some sort which would explain the speedomoter not working. You can get the car scanned at autozone if money is an issue, dont drive too long with the problem so you dont ruin the transmission.

I have a 1983 Ford Falcon XE. The speedomoter

You most likely have a faulty speedometer transducer, or loose/poor connections to this unit.
The unit is generally unrepairable - replacement required.
The transducer unit is mounted on the gearbox at the tailshaft drive output.

The speedometer isn't working?

Sounds like the speedo has not been re connected. If its a cable it might have come out of the gearbox end within the cable sleeve.

1989 Audi 500 se Automatic - Speedomoter

The gear on the odometer is stripped. Quite the common problem with Audi's of this vintage. Parts available at: http://speedometergears.com/

To fix, you have to pull the gauge cluster, remove the speedo from the cluster, then remove the odometer from the speedo. The gear replacement is pretty easy once you get it all apart.

None of the instruments in the cluster work (Gas gauge, speedomot

It is possible that the connector came off the back of the circuit board behind the speedometer. Do the lights work IN the speedometer and gauges? Could also be that the ground wire loosened up under the dash, usually on the drivers side. Just some suggestions that I thought might help. Best wishes to you.
