Hi. All, I just bought a 1995 Lexus ES 300. It has 179,000 miles on it. It drives very well and passed the safty inspection, but the instrument panel light is off. So I can't see the engine collant temperature gauge, the tachometer, and fuel gauge, esp. at night. The needles for the engine collant temperature gauge and the fuel gauge still light though the one for fuel is sometimes twinkling, but the needls for the tach are off. I wonder if you know how much it will cost to fix these.
Also, the user mannual says that we should "Always set the overdive switch to the ON position to improve fuel economy and quiet practice" , but the indicator light on my car says "OFF" and when I set it to ON, the O/D OFF flashes. However, the transmission doesn't seem to be a problem since it shifts very well and there's no delay. Could you tell me what the problem is? Do I have to go to a Lexus dealer now? -   1995 lexus es 300, 115,000 miles. tachometer and rpm needles lights are not working. removed the panel but there seems to be no bulb or no access to bulb of those needles unless you disassemble the back of the panel. bulbs for the seatbelt, engine lights etc are within easy acces and easy to replace but not for those needles. help

The bulbs are replaceable you need to remove the instrument gauge assembly to get to the bulbs.As for the blinking o/d light that usually means there is a problem.That should be looked at by some one with diagnostic tools.

Throttle valve is stick at the beginning, I must push it a little bit harder. But only at the beginning. Is this OK? Is it for the idle? going 65 down the highway it slowly lost power and then just cutt off completly. now car smokes when starting and driving, mechanic said that its only running on 4 cylinders its a v6...it wont start automatic i have to slightly press the gas to crank it, there was a rattling sound right before breakdown. when the car brokedown i couldnot start it, had to get pushed off the freeway, gave it a jump and it started after about fifteen minutes...im ready to get a whole neww motor but if there is any cheaper way im all for it...plz help thxx
