Cant give an answer to why until you check a couple of things,HUse a testlight/probe to check wether you have power to the bulb holders Take a bulb out of the ones that dont work and touch the terminals with a testlight/probe if there is no power trace the wiring to the bulb that does work and find the break in the wire.If there is power then the earth is probably no good .With the existing bulbs in place push from behind the bulb holder terminals so they are firmly against the bulbs terminals to guarantee contact and eliminate as fault.Check that they are correctly fitted and the right type etc .Also the terminals ,bulb/globe,must match the terminals in the bulb holders. This problem is usualy an issue with the earth being no good but have tried to cover all possibilitys.Do you have trailer plug that is damaged?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

There is a short in the steering column. Put the tilt steering all the way up. You may even have to push it up. This will close the short. Open the cover and you will see the wire has become loose in the harness.
The third or High Mounted Brake Light runs straight off the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. You say you tested the "brake unit"? I assume you mean the third brake light assembly, and if you get power there when someone steps on the brake pedal, then the bulbs are bad.
The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!
If the third brake light, or "Center High Mounted" brake light is working but the main brake lights do not then the problem will be the turn-signal switch, and the wiring for the rear lights is ran through the turn-signal switch, and I have replaced many turn-signal switches in many vehicles because only the brake lights were inoperable, and after the fuse, and the brake light switch, it is the next part in line to cause both of the rear main brake lights to not function. If the center high mounted brake light and all of the other lights do function normally, then that would indicate that the fuses and the brake light switch are functioning properly, and the problem will be in the turn-signal switch. The turn-signal switch for that vehicle is between 50 and 80 dollars from most auto part stores, and you can have a repair shop install the turn-signal switch for you or you can install it yourself if you have any mechanical inclination or skills with hand tools, and the only special tools you will need will be a steering wheel puller and a steering lock plate tool, and most auto part stores will rent them out to you or some will even lend them out to you if you have purchased a part from them, and let me know if you require any help to replace that turn-signal switch or any further assistance.
need to know if your third brake light up high is working or not.if it isn't,you need to check the brake light switch on the brake pedal with a test light, one side hot all the time, the other side should turn hot when brake pedal is pushed.
Fuse number 7 (15A, Horn Stop) in the under hood box should be your brake lights. If you are referring to your high mount brake light as the third light, I believe they work on the same fuse.
I would check the bulbs, although it may not be likely that both would go at the same time. There are three bulbs in the unit: brake/taillight, turn signal, and backup.
The units themselves come out pretty easy. Just remove the two phillip's head screws and pull the unit back to get it out. Then turn sockets 1/4 turn and out to check the bulbs. Bulbs pull straight out.
Hope this helps you.
short in main harness.. but first i would check all bulbs... by this i mean pull out each bulb look at base make sure the two contact on bottom base of bulb are not melted together... aslo look good inside bulb.. to make sure the two elements inside bulb are not shorted....don't forget to check the wires to the towing plug if have one
Steering wheel lights do not have bulbs you can change. The switch is a sealed asembly with an integral light. Each one costs around $110 at the dealership.
Heated seats have wires inside a fabric cover located betwwen the outside seat skin and the inner foam. Over time, they burn out. You can buy replacements from the dealer and have either them or an upholstery shop install them.
