Transmision fuse

If this is a early vehicle then the speedo drive cable may have broken. If a 1990 and up then the VSS may be bad. It lives on top of the transmission and sends electrical signal to the speedo via the ECU.

My 2006 vw jetta needs transmission fluid. The manual says I have to take it into a vw dealership however, the closest one is two hours away. Can I add the fluid myself and how?

My car check engine light came up and blinking. The car is terribly dragging when driving. I have a 2001 model Passat 1.8T. Please, what do i do?

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5932051-check_engine_light_check. These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Judging from the time, I guess you live in Europe. I am not sure where you can get a scan of the OBD II connector in your car, but that is what we need to diagnose.

My transmision fluid is black and two transmision mechanics say if you change transmision fluid the car wont run no more is this true sombody please help me they are saying im going to need a new...

The mechanics lied to you. Changing the transmission fluid and screen will not cause any car not to run. Just as you need to periodically change the oil, the same holds true for transmission fluid. Though the fluid is black, yoou state that you have no slippage or nothing out of the ordinary. If that is the case, then you do not need a new transmission. Just have the fluid and screen replaced and all will be fine. Make sure to pick up a transmission pan gasket while you get the necessary fluid and screen. Again, changing the fluid will not cause any car to not run. It is safe to perform the fluid change.

Clutch replacement instructions for 1986 VW Jetta

The release bearing goes in the back of the transmission. You'll need to remove the round "VW" cap on the end of the transmission. I would need to see the pilot bushing to know for sure. It could be the starter bushing or the clutch pushrod bushing.

Just got new tires on our 2007 jetta and the tire

you will need to go to the place and have the scan the tire monitor computer to see what codes you have. they may have broke one or more of the sensors in the tire that are very expensive. if they don't have the correct machine/scanner then you will need to find a shop that does and you will no more then

2007 kia optima transmision flush. drain plug?

I've seen very few transmissions that have drain plugs. The pan has to be removed, which is good due to the sedinent that needs to be cleaned out and the filter needing to be changed. Good Luck

2005 pontiac problem/?

The newer Pontiacs (& Chevy Malibus) have a sealed transmission, which means that there is no dipstick for the transmission. Consult your owner manual.

How can i check the transmision fluid

This will probably need done by Service center. They decided not to put a dipstick in the transmission, instead there is a small yellow plastic cap that I believe they need to check with an instrument.
