Question about 2005 Nissan Murano

1 Answer

Lights not working

I have a 2005 Nissan Murano. Just purchased it. I have noticed that at night, my panel/dash lights are not working (not sure what it is called. I can't see the ac controls, radio controls. I can however see the speedometer and tac. I know how to adjust their brightness. I'm just talking about the lights that work most of the air, radio controls).

They have at some point worked. But I have only seen them work once at night. Don't know if I did something to make them work, if there is a setting, or if I have a short? I'm clueless. Any ideas?

Not sure about the fuse...because it didn't work, then did, and now we're back to not working. It wouldn't do that if it was a fuse would it? I was just wondering if there is something that controls those lights, or are they to work all the time?

Im guessing its a blown fuse in the fuse box...check the fuses and see if any are blown..if that doesnt work there could be a short or a bad wire in the dash...but im not sure im not real good with nissans. good luck!

oh well try changing the fuse anyway because it could just have a bad connector. my truck had a bad one that would only work every once in a while.....im not sure what makes them go crazy..but anyways...fuses are like 5 bucks at walmart. it would take about 15 seconds to change the fuse. if it still doesnt work.....i dunno take it to the nissan dealership and have them run tests on it?? hopefully the fuse thing will work. ive never really been good with electrical problems....hope you figure out!!

OK all the other dash lights work except for the speedometer and the turn signal lights what would cause this its a 04 murano

There are little light bulbs behind the instrument cluster that will need to be changed. The cluster can come out fairly easy with just thre removal of a couple screws.
