it is also called the door stop strut. It is the part inside the door was broken. The part on the body of the van is still OK. I remove the part on the body of the van, so the door can close OK. But we have to hold the door when it is open so it would not open too much to damage the front part.

the keeper on the door or the anchor on the body of the van

SOURCE: The sliding door handles of my 1998 Toyota Sienna have both broken.

OK, here you go:

Pry out on the bottom of the cupholder bottom, relieve 2 clips, pull the bottom out & slide it down

Remove the door trim screw, and pry out on the door panel, relieve 10 clips, pull door trim off

Remove the horizontal upper trim cover at the top of the door; relieve 4 clips

Remove the vertical door trim cover; relieve 2 clips

Remove the window garnish around the handle; pull the small trim cover off; remove 3 screws
This exposes the inside handle

The inside handle is retained by 2 screws.

SOURCE: How do I replace the Rear Brake light bulb of 2001 Toyota Sienna?

I have a 2001 Sienna and have had to replace most of my tail light bulbs.

The bulbs that are mounted in the fender (wrap arounds) have acess panels in the van's interior that easily pop out and expose the back of the light assembly.

However, the bulbs that are found in the lift gate are a different matter. You have to remove the whole interior panel to the lift gate to expose the light assemblies. Go to your auto parts store and get a tool to help pop out the plastic retainers from the lift gates metal frame. Don't force the retainers out. Go slowly and gently so that you don't damage the interior panel. If you are really gentle you might even get to reuse the retainers.

Good luck!

SOURCE: 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE - Automatic sliding door not closing.

This may or may not work depending on exactly what is wrong with the door, I cant tell what is wrong without looking at it directly however:
You can try starting with all doors closed and unlocked, keys in hand disconnecting the battery and letting the vehicle sit for 2 min or so, then reconnect the battery. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position but do not start the van. Next press the button to disable the power sliding door for the drivers side, then manually open the door fully, wait 5 seconds, then close it manually fully. Press button the button again to re-enable the power sliding door, then try to use it with the automatic feature either by pulling the handle or using your remote, this may or may not work depending on if the door has somehow become de-initialized (it should work now) however if something is broken inside the door closing mechanism or door closed/open sensors, the door will continue to malfunction.

The plastic/ rubber door hinge is broken and the driver side door will open wider than it should. How do I remove the interior door panel and replace the rubber door hinge part.

Hello. Please let me assist you.

Your door has a broken 'door check', the metal box that holds the door check has a broken weld.

What I would do if I were you:

Take your vehicle to your local Toyota dealership.
Toyota is aware of this issue, and has issued a repair procedure.

Toyota will repair the vehicle at NO COST to you.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Power door opener on drivers side doesn't work on my 2001 Toyota Sienna. When the power door button is pressed, the door unlatches, but it doesn't open. Do I need to replace the power door motor?

probably not, the motor sounds like it is working. There are plastic rod connectors in the door one either came undone or it just broke,Very inexpensive part.

04 toyota sienna xle driver side sliding door not opening

You need a motor assembly for the power door. It comes with the gears and cables all as one assembly. It requires taking apart the sliding door from the inside. Removing the door panel, door glass, window regulator and motor assembly to gain access to the unit. This is not a job for a novice, and can be a costly repair. Check around for the best price from a place that has experience in Toyota sliding doors.
You cannot just replace a broken cable.
