You'll need to figure out if you are loosing power to the coils or fuel pressure. Each system has a different group of tests to find the problem.

Ignition went out so replaced it

Turn the key to the on position...the security light should begin flashing...let it stay that way 'till it stops...that will re-set it and car should then start...usually takes ten - fifteen minutes.

My car won't stay started

Your imobilizer has activated. You want start the car from the key when this happens. And when you do manage to start it,It will only run for 2 seconds. If you have a key fob try replacing the battery.Or have an auto electrtion to bypass the imobilizer.I hope that was help full.Good luck.

Car will start then die after a second

Are you certain that its a fuel delivery problem? Since it DOES start and then Dies...i would look into "Cold Starting" problems.. Like a Coolant Temperature Sensor -- it acts like a choke for these newer cars. Next time you start it...rev the engine and try to keep it running for a few minutes.....see if it stays running after you get the engine warmed up....if it DOES stay running...then thats the problem. Otherwise try to get the trouble codes from the OBD2. you can usually rent or borrow them from your local Auto parts stores. Keep me posted and i can help you figure this one out.

You have to take the key out for five -10 seconds after you wait ten mins in the on position. The reset does not take effect until you remove the key.

Starting my 1998 pontiac grand am SE

Have you tryed turning on the ignition and waiting a few (15 to 20) seconds before starting?...If the fuel pressure is "bleeding off" when the car sits, it may take a couple of seconds for it to build back up to normal.
