It could very well be the MAP sensor. I believe it is on the fire wall of the '99s . unplug it and see if thet doesn't help. If it does, then replace the sensor. (MAP sensor will have a vacuume hose and a small plug in attached).

The mass airflow meter could be the culprit as well.

Are you getting any codes?

the map sensor is next to the throttle body,on the outward most edge of the intake.A 1999 jeep doesn't have a mass air sensor.

My 99 jeep grand Cherokee will **** and cut off after driving it 30 minutes or so. I had the motor replaced and the coil pack. Like I said it will run and start fine but will **** after awhile then I was...

when its idling try wiggling the three connectors at the pcm. if it dies you need a pcm because there are broken solder joints inside. junkyard units may work but are suspect for the same issue. been there done that with my 98. 99 was fine except for breaking piston skirts in two engines!!

I have a 1999 grand jeep it cut off when im

I just had this problem on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Once the engine got warm, after about 15 to 20 minutes, the car would just die at random times, sometimes when doing 40 mph and sometimes at idle.

I ended up changing the Crankshaft Position Sensor and it cleared the issue.

check your fuel filter it could be restricted that won't show up on test. A faulty fuel pump wont show up time it stalls check to see if you can hear the pump running when you turn the key on. (filter may be part of the regulator on top of the pump unit on top but outside the tank)
