Question about 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD

1 Answer

2001 dodge ram 1550 won't start

Truck is garage kept and driven very little (55,000miles)Last week I I pulled out of garage and noticed is started slowly (like battery was down) so I let it run for a while to warm up and charge battery, I did the same thing again but started. I pulled truck back in the garage and today it won't start at all.
The battery was down so I charge it. The battery is a Napa gold not even 1 year old. The truck turns over quickly as always, but it does not start now. I pulled the plugs and they are wet with fuel so I put new ones in. When I lay the plugs on the exhaust manifold(with plug wires connected) and crank, there is spark. I have work on many engines but I am puzzled with this one. When I bought this truck from my local dealer it did have a remote starter on which I never had the remote to or ever used. I had a thought that this could have a short somewhere. I did notice the the remote started unit has a wire running to the coil. I diconnected the entire remote unit and truck turns over good but still will mot start.

if you have a ohm reader find out specs and check your ohm return on your fuel pressure regulater before assuming and just replacing it

you said that remote start was to the coil maybe also that there was a problem with the remote start and fried your coil

Oil pressure gauge in my 2001 2500 dodge ram diesel is at 0. the check gauge light came on. Plenty of oil. what could it be

Any number of things but do not drive the truck. Possible sheared oil pump drive. Possible electrical fault in oil pressure sense and warning system. If it is an emergency you can loosen the oil filter a little to allow it to leak, start the truck briefly and see if oil is pushed out under pressure. This tells you if the oil pump is OK. Personally I would have the truck towed to a garage or dealer.
