1992Cadilac fleeteood brougham got new starter done put battery im and the car tries to turn over with no key in ignition and negetive post sparks battery

It sounds to me that the small post or wire going to the starter is touching the large wire. The large wire is the positive battery cable and the small wire is the signal wire from the ignition switch. If the two are touching each other the starter will engage as soon as power is applied and circuit is completed at the battery.

The fuse for a starter located on opel kadett 200is

The starter can draw as much as 1000 amps at initial contact and thereafter 250 to 300 amps while swinging the engine, therefore there is no fuse for the starter. Power is fed directly from the battery to a solenoid which is in reality a very heavy duty switch, and from there directly to the starter field coils and armature. No fuse.
If the starter won't turn check the battery cables, the solenoid and lastly the starter itself.

Starter location

Its in engine compartment under hood.
On the lower side.
First test the starter before directly replacing it.

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery. Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not. If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

There is a fuse from the ignition switch. There is also a fusible link. Below is a wiring diagram that you can look at and it has the wire colors as well. No crank, no start. Battery just replaced, connections good. Engine repalced.

Check if you get power from ignition switch to starter solenoid, direct on top of the starter motor, if not, try to link the starter solenoid with a direct wire from battery plus. if you connect the solenoid with a wire, it need to pull the starter in and switch the starter on. if that work, check wiring from solenoid to ignition switch. if that doesn't work, remove the starter and check them out side the car or have them checked from a specialist. if wracked, replace the starter motor.

Feel free to email me directly at as well. There are 5 wires that I am concerned with here. 2 12V+ Wires (White and White/Red) 2 Ignition Wires (Black/Yellow and Black/Orange) and 1 Starter Wire (Black/White). The key here is gonna be alot of patience (no pun intended here). Email me at my email address with the answers to the following questions. 1.) When you turn the key what happends? 2.) The ignition key harness in the steering column easy to get too?
