Nope. 1 tach wire is all you need. You may need a Factory Immoblizer bypass. What this does is it prevents the car from being started without the key. It will crank, but no start. You have GM's Passlock 2 Anti Theft System Installed on your particular car, have you bypassed this? If not you need to do so before doing anything else will work. Let me know if you have done this yet or not.

    Thank you!

Lights comme on but wont start ignition or starter

what lights? name them>?
what year caar.
the word is CRANK does the engine crank fast?
no cranks. (if it cant crank it cant start, unless like my M/T pushed or gravity started)
1: check fuses first.
2: jumper cable crank it. that work>?
if not say so.
yes, then your battery was dead for 3 reasons. ask.
no, then the starter need to be hot wired and tested. for bad key line.
will it crank in A/T neutral , not using PARK
as the operators guide shows?

Can I get the installation wiring diagram for remote starter viper where can this be found

1998 Cherokee?
wow , old bendix starters ,they are long long gone, (done many)
a blast from the past. LOL
so is this an after market hacked in Remote?>
sure.
well buy a new system and read the instructions.
if using an old system , get the instructions online, at makers web site, we can not guess makers, of anything aftermarket.

it hangs up the starter solenoid, , and is very dangerous to you , like that. sure.
my guess is the control (in car) is bad, shorted relay in box or transistor that drives the small wire to the starter, or to cars starter relay .

the starter relay is in the USA PDC fuse box.
all answers USA , not export jeeps, this is a USA forum (calif)

My 1991 ford festiva wont crank replaced fuel pump and screen and fuel filter and fuel pump relay still wont crank and we have pushed the reset button what now help pls

Won't crank? Problem is with starter-have it tested.
If it cranks and won't start, check for spark at one of the spark plug wires. If no spark when the engine is cranking, the ignition circuit is the problem.

2000 olds drove to work fine this morning this afternoon it would not CRANK, just a load starter/solenoid click. changed starter this afternoon, still same load click, checked battery volts 12.6 , cleaned...

This might noy be of much help, buy I would try a remote starter switch hooked up to the starter, with the ignition switch in the run position..then push the remote start switch.
This would give you an idea if the ignition switch is a part of the problem

Car wont start

Hi,
If the engine cranks over normally when you attempt to start you car, but the engine does not start, the problem may be NO FUEL, NO SPARK or NO COMPRESSION. The engine needs adequate fuel pressure, a properly timed spark and normal compression to start.

1) To find why the engine won't start, remove the air inlet tube from the throttle body, push the throttle open and spray a small amount of aerosol starting fluid into the engine. Crank the engine. If it has spark and compression but NO FUEL, it will start and run a few seconds before dying. If it does NOT start, it probably has NO SPARK.

2)Another method to check for spark is to pull a spark plug wire off of a spark plug (if it has plug wires, coil-on-plug ignitions do not) and place the open end of the plug wire near a metal surface on the engine. Have a helper crank the engine while you watch for a spark. DO NOT hold the wire while doing this as it can shock you. If you see a spark, the problem is not spark, but most likely NO FUEL or NO COMPRESSION. If you do not see a spark, the problem is in the IGNITION CIRCUIT.

3)Proper fuel pressure is critical for fuel injected engines to start and run. You should hear the fuel pump inside the fuel tank buzz for a couple of seconds when the ignition is turned on (no buzz means the pump is not running and the engine is not getting fuel). You can smell the tailpipe for gasoline vapors after cranking the engine. If you smell gas, the problem is likely not fuel but NO SPARK. You can also remove the plastic cap and press the schraeder valve test fitting on the fuel rail to see if there is any fuel pressure to the engine (not a very accurate test because fuel pressure must be at a certain level for the engine to start, for that you need a gauge). Even so, no fuel at the fuel rail would tell you fuel is not getting to the engine..

Thank you !!

Remote Car Starter with tachless vehicle. (Tach Lock-out)

Did you read the requirements for your particular system? The reason I ask is most remote starters will not work on a vehicle with a manual transmission, because of thier need to have the clutch pedal depressed in order to engage the starter.

Where is the tach wire in 1998 toyota rav 4?

You are not going to find the Tach wire in the engine compartment, because the tach signal comes out of ther vehicle's ECU.

The Tach wire is solid BLACK, located on pin 13 on the ECU.

When you turn the key, get a clicking noise and no engine cranking, the clicking noise is normally the solenoid. The solenoid is a heavy duty relay that applies 12 volts to the starter. In most cases the solenoid is mounted physically on the starter. If you got a remote starter at the auto parts store you can
hook it up to the solenoid directly and push a button on the remote starer , (which takes the place of the ignition switch) and see if the engine cranks

Hope this helps Good Luck Loringh

1994 Chrysler LHS engine won't turn over.

I checked another site that had a possible solution. It told how to check the ignition switch. After performing this check I decided to replace it. Still no go. The only other thing I could think of was possibly a loose or broken wire somewhere. After looking it over I decided that tracing the wires would be too much trouble.

My solution was to by a remote push button starter switch. I'd just run a wire from the battery to the switch and from the switch to the starter. As of this writing I'm still in the process of installing it. I did manage to "hot wire" the starter and it started fine. That's what lead me to believe the problem is in the wiring. So this remote switch should work.
