2000 malibu jerks when driving.

I have a 2000 chevy malibu, sometimes when i hit the gas it sort of jerks and the engine seems to be running a little sluggish, kind of like its working too hard and sometimes holding it back. I'm thinking maybe the fuel injector or something. Any suggestions?

-   car is put into gear from park to drive it pops hard into gear. it drives fine;it also pops from park to reverse not as hard.-   Guest

I would check the transmission fluid level. Sounds like the fluid level is low.I hope this helps
