Question about 1995 Dodge Neon

I'm looking to buy a 1992 dodge neon

The seller said that I would need to replace the two rear struts and I'm just wondering how much it would cost to replace. Labor parts and everything.

Is a 2000 Dodge neon rusted rear strut fixable? It's come apart from rusting thru. If so, is it worth the trouble & cost?

if one is rusted the the other side will be close behind
you could go to a wrecker and get the un rusted units for repair but the problem is that where the units are welded in will rust from the salt used on the roads during winter ( if the surround metal is not affected by rust)
Basically I suggest that you take a good look at the vehicle condition for other rust sites ( chamber under windscreen, body and guard rust and make a decision to replace it if there is other rust around

The back end of my 2000 dodge neon slides whenever I go over a bump. What is causing this?

rear shock bad (or struts if you have these) see if you push down on the back of the vehicle, like on the trunk lid, if it seems bouncy. Note if your shocks or struts have leaked oil.

My Dodge Neon SXT is very low in the front. Is it

The front should be even with the rear. If it is low, the most likely cause is worn out struts. The repair should cost ~$200. Don't try to do it yourself as you need some specialized tools.

My boyfriend is looking to buy a used 1995 Neon. The only issue he has with it is that the owner has lowed it. Do you have any idea what the price range would be to get it back to normal and not have it...

The 1995 Neon is most likely the worst used car you can buy.
Please look at other cars and save a PILE of money on repair costs and reliability issues.
Raising the car could be just springs ..... about $200 or it may need a complete suspension change..... approx $1200.

The fact that the car has been lowered may mean this car has been driven hard.
Another reason not to buy it.
The Neon cannot be driven hard with out high repair bills...... those bills may be coming your way very soon if you do buy this car.

1997 Dodge Neon rattle noise in trunk

This is a classic problem with dodge neons. If you take out the carpet and try to shake your car side ways, you will actually see the strut move and make ratting noise. You can try tighten the nuts and bolts. There are only two bolts holding the strus from the bottom side and 4 nuts on the top side. More than likely you need a replacement. To replace struts, you need a spring compressor. However, your mounts and bushings might have worn out as well. If you find complete spring assembly and strut from the junk yard, that might just solve your problem. Make sure they are tight when you install them because if you don't your struts will be worse then on you have now.
