    Same problem.

I have replaced the lo beam bulbs numerous times in 3 years, especially drivers side. (no I dont touch the bulb with my fingers ;-) Now they both don't work at all after replacement. Checked fuses and re-installed them to be sure. i'm guessing its the headlight switch, but the running lights come on and the high beams work fine. any help is appreciated.

I have a 2005 Kia Amanti and both headlights are out. I have replaced the bulbs and checked (what I think, according to the fuse diagram) the correct fuse and it seems to be intact. What is the problem?

I have a 2004 Kia Optima. I've had to replace the low beam headlights every couple of months since buying the car (2 or 3 years ago). A couple of days ago they both went out at the same time. One bulb was only 2 weeks old, and the other 4 weeks. I've had another car for 6 years and NEVER replaced a headlight in it. There's obviously a problem! And, no, I don't touch the bulb when installing it. Someone must have heard of this problem, any help?

My headlamps on my 2005 Optima go out every few months. Getting into the headlamp assembly is a nearly impossible job as well. I can never get those little clips to work quite right. Otherwise, the car has been great.

SOURCE: may headlights went out on my 2005 kia optima

It could be a fuse bad connection to the lamps or the switch itself

Headlight burned out on drivers side

had to replace a few headlights on my optima also, i spoke to a few people who own kia's and it seams to be a problem most of us have, and if one goes, it wont be long until the other one follows, make sure you use kia bulbs for replacement, i tried other bulbs and they dont always give off the proper amount of light.

Both headlights went out at the same time (high beams still work)

Sounds like the switch or the relay. The headlights are separately fused so that is not the problem.

What tools do i need to change the headlight in a 2005 kia optima

No tools on the left side but on the other side with the battery.
You will need to take out the battery.
Just screw the cap off inside which is behind the headlight.

There is a clip in there.
Just un-clip it . It is a clip that attached underneath after when you take the clip off.
Remember how you un-clip it !!!
That way when you clip it back in , it will be alot EASIER !!!

Don't touch the tip of the headlight BULB.

1. Open hood. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove five bolts attaching headlight and combination light assembly to vehicle. deb10ad.jpg 3. Pull headlight and combination light assembly forward clear of vehicle. 4. Rotate back cover counterclockwise to disengage from light assembly. 5. Pull socket with bulb straight out of headlight and combination light assembly. Regards, Jeep Brainy
