There are many warning lights that can come on , some very serious , and you should shut down the engine and not drive further till the fault is repaired , oil pressure, overheating , brake fail , the above warning lights are classed as serious, most other warnings are minor but should be repaired as soon as possible . The drivers hand book will show the symbol for each fault.
The ABS warning stays on because the warning system has detected a fault with the anti-lock braking system fitted to the car. The car is still safe to drive but the ABS may not be operating if the warning has appeared and remains on.
The most likely cause is one or more failed wheel speed sensors (especially on older vehicles like yours). As a first step the sensors need to be checked and the failed units replaced.
This warning means that a fault has occurred that would have disabled the car in older models, the computer control has worked around the fault to avoid stranding you with a non operational car. You need to see a dealer or a well equipped shop and have the computer scanned for the fault code or codes that are stored when this happens. The engineers who design cars and trucks call this "Failure Mode Strategy"
the long beep is to tell you its on.try asking someone to walk past when your in reverse about 18 inches from the bumper if it dont beep beep then try cleaning sensors.if that dont work then a sensor could be faulty..
brake master cylinder low? if so top up, or your abs module might be stuffed, need mroe info but im going with brake master cylinder needing top up of dot 3 brake fluid.
It may be the computer itself. If the light keeps returning, either the computer is faulty or the fans are really failing. I do not recommend dealers but actual mechanic shops.
