Bought a 98 Sienna minivan. Only came with a single key. How can you tell if the Sienna is equipped with a keyless remote door lock system?

Previous owners did not take good care of minivan and may have lost the remote if so equipped. I'm just wanting to find out how you would know if the vehicle is equipped with a remote locking system as my other cars are. It would be nice to have to use instead of always using the key.

I can buy new replacement remotes for $16 each. I would rather spend $32 for two remotes if I have the system already in my vehicle. I'm just wanting to know how I can tell if there is a system already installed in it or not.

SOURCE: Drive Door lock only works manually

It is not that hard to fix. Actuater is sold as part of the assembly. You can't just replace it by itself. Order the part online for a lot less than dealer. I learned that when the passenger side did the same thing a couple months later and I saved $150 on line. Remove the inside door panel. Remove lock assembly from door. Remove door handle.

SOURCE: can not lock car by key remote . toyota rav 4 53 plate

If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.

What are the locations of the Remote Control Door Lock Receivers RCDLR in a 2015 Malibu?

According to GM there are 3 components in the RCDLR or RKE remote keyless entry system. My key fobs with new batteries only work standing right next to the car. The range of the key fob dropped at that the same time my TPMS tire pressure monitoring system repair warning came on my dashboard. The problem is that there are 4 different components on the 2015 Malibu. I will provide the GM part numbers for these, if you please tell me where they are and also how to replace them: #13583559 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver #13502554 Antenna #13502551 Ignition Lock Key Transmitter Antenna #13502549 Low Frequency Console Antenna

How Do I Know If My Car Equipped With A Keyless Entry Remote System? I have a 1999 Ford Windstar. I bought several remotes but can't get my locks to engage. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Cathy

It does indeed have keyless entry. It needs reprogramming when you get a new remote. Also if you disconnect the battery. Usually a local car alarm fitting shop, or an auto-electrician will do it. Plus of course a Ford dealership.

How do you reset the alarm system on a 98 olds silhouette after it triggers without the remote entry

Theft Deterrent Arm/Disarm Modes

This can pose a problem if the keyless entry transmitter is damaged, lost, or inoperative for any reason while you attempt to disarm the content theft deterrent system.
Mode 1: The system arms when you lock the doors with the keyless entry transmitter. The system disarms when you unlock the left front, right front, or liftgate door with the key or the keyless entry transmitter. The system does not arm when you lock the doors with a power door lock switch.

Programing instructions for buick 2006 lacrossekeyless remote fob

Transmitter ProgrammingImportant: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.
  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to access programming: Vehicle Control System/Computer Integrating System/Module Setup/BCM/Program Key Fobs.
  3. Press the START soft key on the scan tool. Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.
  4. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 5-10 seconds, the scan tool will indicate that the transmitter is programmed.
  5. Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.
  6. Remove the scan tool.
  7. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.
