For great instructions and diagrams go to autozone web site, enter vehicle info, click on view repair guide, then drive train, then manual transaxle (procedure is same for manual or auto transaxle), then halfshafts.
I am assuming u want to change the entire halfshaft (cv joint). My Honda's were cheap ($49 each) but whoa!!!! lots of labor involved. Let me know how u do.

Can the full front axle be exchanged from a 02 mazda 626 to a 97 mazda 626?

You install a complete reman front drive axle

If you like, you can buy a new one,for more money

The CV Joints (2) are part of the axle assy, you
will see that in the pictures your ordering from

You order parts that are application specific

No need to worry what fits another vehicle

Have to get the correct side, they are different lengths
& part numbers

How much is it to repair a cracked ball joint in 2002 mazda 626?

Change the upper and lower at the same time, due to wear from takeing the strain from the other. The parts were I live would cost $116.00 plus $542.38 and the always spring more on you. Do a good over all cheak of tie rod ends and control bushings, Rottors, pads and calipers with a good grease job without breaking the seals. Wheel bearings and CV-Joints should also be cheaked.....Hope this helps.

Mazda 626 popping noise in front driver side when turning and or body shifting

Your Constant velocity joints have gone bad. the Boot that holds th grease has leaked out all the grease and the bearing inside are not being lubicated and thats where the poping comes from. Have someone look at the axle (CV) to determine if repairable or you might have to replace the axle. Hope this helps

Clicking sound when turning hard or in reverse turning....

Usually that is the sign of a cv joint going. I have an accord with front wheel drive and it did the same thing. THe cv boot being torn could have caused the initial breakdown of the bearing faces...

1995 Mazda 626 CV joint

Granted, I'm not familiar with your car but some vehicle I owned in the past had right AND left-hand threads, depending on the side of the car.
You might check to see if that is the case.
