Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I loos the gages in my dash and my windows

I was driving on day and all of a sudden bam I los the gages. They went dead and I los my windows as well. I don't know if a ground vibrated loose or what. What should I look for and where?

Sounds like the main ignition harness is loose pull the panel under the steering column and check the main harness it may have been pulled out or not snapped in all the way from a prior service, hope this helps

As I remember it wasn't a recall type of situation so no notices were sent. I believe that they had simply extended the warranty terms for dash problems but if you're past the 7 year mark they may not cover it regardless of mileage. Never hurts to ask if they'll make an exception though. The servo motors that move the gauge needles were usually the problem. Hope this helps and Good luck!

Try replacing the fusible links down by the starter. There are 2 and they look like a round rubber plug. Cut them out and splice the wires together. If they aren't there check the wire splices for corrosion. Use shrink tubeto cover the splices. Hope this helps.

Lights started flickering battery light came on Dash lights and gages went crazy now wont start


Like you said, battery may be flat. You can check that with a multimeter.

Next check the alternator. Faulty alternator leads to uncharged battery.

U have a problem with the air temp control blend door actuator motor, very common failure. In order to replace this part the dash must come out.
