  • you can put anything in anything if you have the patience time/money.
  • kidding aside yes depending on new engines application you will need atleast the computer from the new engines vehicle possibly the whole harness(make sure they didn;t cut harmess where it connects to firewall most junkies do unless you specify and thats not always a guarantee
  • make sure motor mounts and p/s,a/c,etc are compatable usually you can transfer from one to the other. but sometimes they change how things mount from yr-yr.
  • basically check new engine over carefully and good luck.

99 grand am was driving home battery was about to die so i tried to make it home before it died

Can't say what the thud was..but it certainly sounds like your alternator is not charging your system.. When it isn't charging and the car is running off the battery the car will do some weird things as it loses its.battery power then just die....Auto zone should have found that and not just charge the battery..get yourself a small car charger at autozone $25 -40 or so and charge it again and have them make a full charging system check..good luck..

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Dual Air Intake

is this one of those cyclone cartridges you put in the intake hosing? if so then dont waste your money, the power gain off of one of these is not noticable and the fuel economy wont change enough to make a difference, the engine is gonna draw air in at whatever rate it will, the only way to change that is with forced air induction (ie turbo, supercharger, blower). these things only help to mix the fuel with the air a little better so you get a more even burn and less wet spray fuel making it into the cylinder. forced air induction works by changing the volumetric efficiency of your engine, say you have a 4L engine, running naturally aspirated in 1 cycle that 4L engine draws an average of 85% of that 4L, if you put on a turbo or blower or supercharger you make that engine draw in more than its 4L capacity so your 4L engine would be running at say 120% of that 4L, trying to compress that much more fuel/air mix is where you get all the extra power from. ill save the explanation of an intercooler for another day....

99 grand am se

Don't bother, get rid of the car, seriously. Worst car GM ever made. But, if you really want to put money into it, you can find manual downloads all over the web, I don't know where you could get one for free, however. This is a decent site to buy it from though www.autoeducation.com

Engine died

to have your engine re-built in a shop it will cost any where from $ 2,000.00 to $ 3,200.00 depending on the shop that you go to. it is a good idea to shop around and get a few estimates.
