Fuel problems I have a 1993 Olds Siera. In October of this year my car died on the freeway. I had it towed home and it started right up as the tow truck pulled away. I took it to a local shop and they ran some pressure tests and just ended up puting a new fuel filter in. The old one was plugged. I thought that had fixed the problem but it happened again. One time it just died a couple of times going about 35 miles an hour and started back up again and then ran good up until tonight. Well tonight it died again but I couldn't get it started. So...I called the BF and he planned on towing me home. But I got back to the car and it started up again. I got it home and it died as I finished pulling in the driveway. Does anyone have any idea of why my car is doing this?

Thank you dopey...If that is the problem, I guess I will have to take her to the shop. It sounds like it would be a very involved and dangerous deal to work on. My BF is real good with cars but he won't tackle this one. Thanks again. :)

I have a very similar style car, and I have very similar issues...I have replaced my fuel filter, fuel pump, and a few other minor maintenance issues. The problem persisted, so I took it to the shop. The trusted mechanic said that my IAC was sticking, and other than that, I had PCM issues. I have replaced the IAC and am in the process of replacing my PCM. I believe this will solve my problem, because the symptoms fit the diagnosis. My symptoms include: irradic idle, stalling, and what felt like a fuel issue. Really, the Powertrain Control Module was failing. Anyway, I Hope this helps you in your predicament.
